Elmo in Central Park

Elmo in Central Park.  There are a lot of ways to make a living, but I can't think of any better than this.  What a treat I stumbled upon in New York this weekend...

  1. I saw the very same Elmo in Central Park this past weekend and I think it is the best one I've seen in NYC yet. He really looks like the real Elmo and he doesn't demand payment for a picture. He just has a sand bucket sitting there for donations. He really interacted well with the kids who were delighted with him and he seemed to really enjoy them also. I even saw him refuse a tip from a young girl in a wheelchair after posing and interacting with her. A real professional. The other Elmos I've seen are creepy. They will show you a tip sign and only pose for you if you pay them, then turn their back. They don't interact or seem to care about the kids at all, just the money.

  2. Seems we have an altruistic Elmo! I had no clue that there were different varieties. I saw this Elmo at the same time as you did, he seems to be calm and composed!
