Girls Ripping

Though less publicized, women who surf are no less talented.  There are a number of ASP World Tour stops for women, but they get much less attention.  However, the pro world isn't the only venue for amazing women surfers, though it is one of the most interesting.  Enjoy some of these photos.

Here is a video shot at Cote de Basque in Biarritz France.  When I went to Biarritz, the waves weren't firing quite like this, but they certainly were amazing.  These are some of the women warming up for the 2011 Roxy Pro.

Surf Trip to San Luis Obispo, Part 1

This may have been a while ago, but Erik Bensberg and I took a mighty surf trip to San Luis Obispo.  A lot can happen on a surf trip, and this blog (SPOILER ALERT) won't even get to actually surfing.  

On our way driving down from Carmel on Highway 1 through Big Sur, Erik and I stopped to check Molera, stopped at Deetjen's for breakfast, sat in a small chair, explored the wilderness, and photographed rocks.  On the way to San Luis Obispo, we came across the surfing wonders that the central coast has to offer.  More to come in part 2...

Biaritz Surf Art Show

When I was staying in Biarritz, I was delighted to find out that two of the people who were staying at the Surf Hostel Biarritz were displaying their work at a surf art show.  Who would have thought that these existed?  After a session at Cote de Basque, a few of the Hostel guests and I walked to the show.  I got a few snaps of art, before I was told that photos were 'interdit' (forbidden).  Everything was beautiful...
