Colorful New Sacre Coeur

This colorful Sacre Coeur is something that I've been working on for a while.  It was an assignment we had in class to take a photo we shot, make it black and white, and then recolor it.  I was going for Sacre Coeur on acid.  This process takes way longer than I expected, but here it is...

Crypt of Sacre Coeur

There are multiple parts of the Sacre Coeur, all equally beautiful.  However, the crypt has a much different feel than the rest of the basilica.  It is very serious, rather damp, and dark.  Coming down from the top of the behemoth and entering the daunting crypt is sensational.

Sacre Coeur

Sacre Coeur.  I know that some people have been waiting for some of these photos for a long time, so here they are!  I present to you the wonderful white basilisk, the Sacre Coeur.  The Sacre Coeur is built on the highest natural point in Paris, and offers an amazing view.  

Out front, there is no difference from anywhere else in Paris.  The crazy bronze man = awesome. 

From the raised vantage point, you look down upon the Eiffel Tower...

Like the Notre Dame, you can climb up to the top and there are absolutely amazing views.

Photos interdit en Sacre Coeur

Hello everyone! It has been a while, but I'm here in Paris and there's so much to show that I couldn't wait until I got home to post something on here. Granted, I don't have a computer so all my pictures and writing are coming from and being posted with my iPhone. In other words, the quality of my posts for the next few weeks won't compare to the quality you'll get when I can plug in my camera and get ahold of my photos.

Today I went to Sacre Coeur. Sacre Coeur, or Sacred Heart, is a beautiful landmark located on a hill, which happens to be the highest natural point in Paris. Sacre Coeur took nearly 40 years to complete. The foundations were laid in 1875 and it was not finished until 1914. Five different architects lived and died while working on designing the basillica.

Immediately upon entrance, a large sign reads "Photos Imterdit dans Sacre Coeur" which means there are no pictures allowed in the chapel. Of course, I managed to take some. Here's a little tease:
